PIBLS Website
Website and admin panel for Primeira Igreja Batista em Lagoa Santa, which replaced the WordPress site without raising hosting costs.
- My role
- Only developer: architecture, backend, frontend and operations.
- Technologies
- Laravel 13 · PHP 8.4 · React 19 · TypeScript · MySQL · Playwright · Spec Kit · Claude Code
The problem
The church needed to replace its WordPress site with its own website, with a panel for the team to update content, without spending more than the shared hosting it already pays for.
What I delivered
- A pre-rendered public site, with a 160 KB per-page JavaScript limit checked on every build.
- An admin panel with role-based permissions, events, ministries, content and visitor requests.
- Versioned deployments on shared hosting, with no Node on the server.
- Encrypted backups and operating guides so one person can keep the system running.
Technical decisions
No Node in production
Shared hosting does not run Node. React is pre-rendered in CI, and the server only delivers files and the PHP API.
Trade-off: dynamic data depends on API calls from the browser.
Lean operations, recorded in an ADR
I kept only the alerts one person can actually follow: an off-site backup copy, one monitor and two checks.
Trade-off: less visibility until the website’s usage grows.
Outcome
Live at pibls.com, replacing the old WordPress site on the same shared hosting.
